Description
This dark red chili, round to oval and 2 to 3 cm in diameter, grows wild in the jungle along the Pacific coast. Cascabel means "little bell." The Indians dry them and use them as a musical instrument, since the seeds rattle with the slightest movement.
Called "coban" in Guatemala, the plant can reach more than a meter in height.

Cooking tips
Cascabels have a nutty taste and can be used to enliven salad dressings.
Commonly used to flavor broths;
used whole, it flavors; cut, it releases all its strength.
