A journey through Australia > Tasmania, a fishing paradise

The state of Victoria looks out at Tasmania, the most southerly Australian state, an island as big as a country. Between the island and terra firma, where the Indian Ocean and the Tasman Sea meet to form the Bass Strait, they fish for the famous "Milton Rock Bugs." 

When it comes to lobster, the local ones - if we may be blunt - are the best, but perhaps even better known is the salmon which is featured, either fresh or smoked, on the menus of the best restaurants and which can hold its own alongside varieties from Scotland or Norway.
